How Many Days Is an Umrah Visa Valid? Validity and Stay Explained

Quick answer

Two separate periods apply. Validity is the window in which you must enter Saudi Arabia, counted from the date the visa is issued. Duration of stay is how long you may remain in the country from the date you actually enter. Your own dates are printed on your visa, so read both fields — entering on the last day of validity does not shorten your permitted stay, but staying beyond the permitted stay is an overstay regardless of validity.

The most common misunderstanding we correct is people reading only one date on the visa. Validity and stay are different numbers, and mixing them up is how overstays happen.

Validity versus duration of stay

  • Validity — the deadline for entering Saudi Arabia, counted from the issue date. Miss it and the visa lapses unused
  • Duration of stay — the maximum number of days you may remain, counted from your entry stamp
  • Both are printed on your visa. Always plan against the shorter practical limit

Our stay options

Our published pathways cover short-stay and extended-stay arrangements, with the specific validity and stay period confirmed to you in writing before submission. If your travel plan needs a particular stay length, tell us before we file — it shapes which pathway we use.

Multiple-entry visas: how the days count

Most Umrah eVisas are single-entry. If your visa grant explicitly shows multiple entries, the permitted stay is cumulative across the whole validity period. It does not reset to a fresh allowance each time you exit and re-enter. Every return visit also needs a new approved package and a new permit.

What happens if you overstay

Overstaying carries financial penalties and can affect future entry to Saudi Arabia. If circumstances change while you are in the country — a medical issue or a cancelled flight — contact your provider immediately rather than after the deadline passes.

Rules change — confirm your own dates

Saudi authorities revise Umrah visa validity and stay rules from time to time, and the Hajj season brings additional restrictions. The dates printed on your own visa, and the rules in force on your travel date, always take precedence over any general guide including this one.

Frequently asked

Questions pilgrims ask about this

Short, direct answers to the questions we hear most often from Indian pilgrims.

Does the Umrah visa validity start from issue or from entry?

Validity starts from the issue date. The permitted stay starts from the date you enter Saudi Arabia.

Can I extend my Umrah visa once I am in Saudi Arabia?

Umrah visas are generally not extendable. Plan your return travel inside the permitted stay printed on the visa.

Can I use an Umrah visa during Hajj season?

Does each re-entry on a multiple-entry visa give me a fresh stay allowance?

No. The allowance is cumulative across the validity period of the visa.
